The company is owned by ex-employees of a major paper multinational who left the area in 1978, as well as by the employee association, organized and legally constituted in 1992, using a model of the "employee stock ownership plans" (ESOP'S) that exist in the U.S.A. Natural Eco Papers has developed a line of "natural" fiber containing papers for printing and writing, using a furnish of 90-93% recycled wastepaper collected in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras (pre and post consumer) and 7-10% "natural fibres" obtained from agricultural and agro industrial sources near the mill. When required, the mill can process waste agricultural fibres in two digesters located in the mill.
